Song Suggestions

I have a lot of songs in my library, but there are always more songs to add.  The problem is that I’m running out of ideas.  I’m coming to you…

If you have a song that you’d like to have played at the Tone Deaf Challenge, just leave the suggestion here.  Please remember that this should be a fairly popular song that is known well enough that people can answer it.

If I get enuogh songs, I will start to spotlight them during the game (maybe one a night or one a round).  I will make note of which team suggested the song and if they are in line to get it, the song will be skipped.  (It’s only fair.)

So, let’s get crackin’.  Think of songs and leave them as comments.

I’m waiting!

Had some category ideas for either the lightning rounds or the last round:
    1. Humorous songs(or song parodies)
    2. Movie music or artists who also act
    3. Jock jams
    4. “Girl power” bands
    5. Club music
    6. Dazed and confused(Trippy music from the 70s)
    7. Power ballads
    8. Better off without you(People with strong solo careers after leaving bands)
    9. Shut yo mouth or bring on the funk
    10. Grunge
    11. Child sensations
    12. Always a bridesmaid(Huge hits that only made it to #2)
    13. You should hear my…(People who have famous relatives who sing)
    14. Blame it on the rain(Songs about the weather)
    15. These are the days(Songs with days of the week in them)

I know some of them are kind of weak, but I’m just trying to toss some stuff out there and see it helps you think of some.

    Some additional final round categories:

    1) Lilith Fair
    2) Big Bands & Crooners
    3) Classical (just to put a touch of class & snootiness in our life)
    4) Disco
    5) Folk
    6) Pop/Mainstream Instrumentals
    7) Piano playing front-men/women
    8) Two for the show (Famous Duos)
    9) Care for a sample? (play the mixed version and teams have to identify the song sampled within)
    10) New Age
    11) Original Artists (play the original versions of songs that were made much more popular by later artists covering the original)
    12) One Album Wonders (songs from artists who had multiple hits off of one album, and no other hits outside of that album)

Oh, and I know you watch Pscyh, but for some reason, I can’t remember you ever using any of the USA original series for the TV themes. And keep in mind Monk has had two different themes. I think the Randy Newman one is much more popular though.

Hey Tim, I just wanted to let you know that I was wrong about Glass Tiger being a one hit wonder. They made it to number 7 on the U.S. charts with a song called Someday. I looked it up on youtube and didn’t recognize it though. They had two other U.S. top 40 hits that I didn’t recognize either. But I was correct about the fact that they are Canadian and that Bryan Adams did backing vocals on Don’t Forget Me(When I’m Gone).
