It’s the last day of the month (or at least it will be Wednesday).  Here’s your chance to score 10 bonus points for your team.  If you’re going to be there and you leave your team name here, I’ll give you 10 bonus points.  It’s as easy at that.

See you Wednesday at the Brothers Grimm!

Impossible Song for June 30, 2010

Alright.  It’s time to give away the song swapper chip again. This is extremely simple this week.  All you have to do is identify the TV show for the TV Theme.

The ‘ENTER PASSWORDS’ page is locked up. Click ‘ENTER PASSWORDS’ at the top of the page and type the name of the song you’re about to hear in all caps and without spaces.

Here we go…

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Clue:  This show was not on CBS. It wasn’t on ABC, either.  NBC hasn’t had many hit shows recently… this isn’t one of the few, either.  It’s also not from a cable channel or the CW, which is worse than most cable channels.  And now another clue because we still have two swappers left… To help his brother, one of the main characters got something ‘big’ tattooed on his chest.  More clues coming later.

Tone Deaf Challenge Math for June 23, 2010

It’s time for Tone Deaf Challenge math:

Craig David and The Beatles both had songs about something similar.  Take those and add them.  Then, add the number of the year mentioned in the title of the first major release of the band from France that takes a name of a city in Arizona.  Then, subtract the number of seconds it would take you to get to Mars.  Divide that by the number of spinning things that sing about sugar pies and honey bunches.  Finally, multiply that by another number, push the equal sign, and you’re back to good.  That’s your answer.

Head on over to the enter passwords page and type your answer.

Leave a comment with your team name and the decade you want.  If you’re one of the first 4 in, you get a chip!

Lightning Rounds for June 16, 2010

We’re also going to introduce a new space onto the Radio Roulette board.  It’s called ‘Let It Ride.’  It’ll work like this.  If you land on the space, you get to pick the decade.  If you get your title and artist right, you’ll get 25 points.  You can keep it or ‘let it ride’ and go for another song.  The next song will be from a decade picked by the team ahead of you (team on deck).  If you ‘let it ride,’ you’ll play for 35 points.  You can do that one more time with a song from the decade picked by the team ahead of them (team in the hole).  Get all 3 songs (title and artist) and you get 45 points.  If you choose to let it ride and you miss title or artist, you get no points.

We’ll try it and see how it goes.  If we like it, great.  If not, we can tweak it.  This idea comes from Jeremy.  Thanks, Jer!

Last bit of news is that the bridge IS NOT CLOSED as we mentioned it would be.  They postponed the construction to next week.  No need to detour this week.

Four of these words are in a TV Theme song. Go to the ENTER PASSWORDS page and enter the name of the TV show in ALL CAPS. Beware because two of the six words are decoys.  If nobody gets it by Tuesday afternoon, I’ll try to add a hint or two.

Impossible Artist for June 9, 2010

Take a look at the clues below.  Based on the clues, you need to figure out the artist.

When you think you know the artist, head over to the ENTER PASSWORDS page and type in your guess IN ALL CAPS WITH NO SPACES — also watch the spelling, it’s a little tricky.  If you’re right, you’ll see a page.  If you’re wrong, you’ll see the password box again.

If you get in, follow the directions to earn your song swapper chip.  Remember, there are only 4 chips.  Once they’re gone, they’re gone!

CLUE 1: The group released their first major hit in 1994.

CLUE 2: Their hit song mentions a confection that you might get at an amusement park.

CLUE 3: Since there’s still 90s left, let’s give another clue.  After the amusement park treat, the song mentions something that people on a diet might put in their coffee.

Remember, there’s almost always a reason I pick the artists I pick for these.

This is an RSVP post.  To get 10 bonus points for the week, all you have to do is leave a comment with your team name.  Then, make sure someone’s there around 8 PM or so.  You’ll get your points.  (I also accept text messages, but this method is preferred!)

Oh, and the lightning rounds for this week… Hair Bands!

The best part is that I’ve never played ANY of these songs in the game before.
