Tone Deaf Challenge

I’ve just updated the scores for Season 9 and wow is it close.  Here’s how tonight is going to work to make it fair…

The top team tonight will get an automatic bye into the Final FaceOff.  They’ll get their base time of 1 minute plus whatever they have banked for the season.  For example: Trock, who is in the lead right now, would get 60 seconds + their banked 24.5 seconds (rounded to 25 because my countdown software doesn’t do half seconds).  They would get 1:25 on their clock.

Then, the top 2 remaining teams on the season standings will battle for the second spot in the Final FaceOff.  They will get their base time of 55 seconds + their banked time from the season.

This gives any teams who show up tonight a chance to win but they will be at a serious disadvantage because they haven’t banked any time for the season.

The team who wins the Final FaceOff will be Season 9 Champions!

If this doesn’t make sense, ask me!

On a side note… the lightning round category tonight is a hit.  I bat you’ll like it.

One more note… the lyrics in the radio roulette round are gone and replaced with questions with multiple answers.  Each answer will be worth 5 points.

Leave a comment with your team name to get 10 bonus points.  That’s it this week.  Remember, be there by 8 PM to get your points.  We’ll hopefully start the game by 8:30 or 8:45 PM.

I’m running out of ideas…

Let’s do some math:

Take the number of times it takes to be a lady according to The Commodores then add the ‘special’ number that gets Caught Up In You.  Multiply that by Jenny’s exchange.  Now, make the number go Down by a number that’s sure to get you All Mixed Up.  Divide that number by a number in a very detailed Paul Simon song.  Multiply that by a very tasty treat in a Madonna remake.  Finally, ditch the decimals and type that number into the password.

If you’re right, leave your team name to earn the song swapper chip!

I’ve mixed up the letters in 2 titles of songs by the same artist.  The password will be the artist’s name.  Click on the ‘ENTER PASSWORDS’ page and type in the password in all caps.

It’s the first day of Pens playoffs and we’re starting after the final seconds tick off of their clock.  RSVP with your team name and make sure someone on your team wears some Pens gear and get 5 points.  Please make sure you’re there by the start of the 3rd period.

If someone from your team is there for the entire game, I’ll up the ante and give you 15 points.

This is new… We’re going to be doing one word titles and artists for the Lightning Round category this week.  So, I’ve scrambled up a title and artist (and added 3 extra letters).  Your job is to figure it out.

Put the artist before the title in all caps on the Enter Passwords page. — FIXED — Artist first, then title, no spaces, all caps. My bad!

Last bit of news… the Pens are on Wednesday night.  That means we’ll be delayed.  We had teams struggling to find tables last year during the playoffs.  I’m not sure if that’ll be the case this year or not (probably not).  I just wanted to give you the heads-up.

I’m going to keep tonight’s category a secret until we get there so that people aren’t researching anything.  It’s gonna be pretty easy, though.

Also, I’m bringing back the Lyrics Pyramid since it had a good response last week.

Remember, there’s no Penguins game so we’ll start at our normal time.
