Tone Deaf Challenge

I’ll be thankful if we get a decent number of teams at the Tone Deaf Challenge on November 26th.

I’m thankful that I’m almost done making this week’s game.

I’m thankful that I came up with a new game in place of the Lyrics Pyramid.

I’m thankful that I’ll be there this week.  (Last week sucked!)

What are you thankful for?  How about 10 bonus points?  Well, all you have to do to get the points it RSVP for the game.  Do that by clicking on the title of this post and leaving a comment at the bottom.  If your team RSVPs, you’ll get 10 bonus points.

By the way, the Lightning Round songs for the night play off of the holiday.

The new game that’s taking the place of the Lyrics Pyramid is called ‘The Mashup!’  Basically, I’ve chopped 7 songs up and put them back to back to form one song.  Getting all 7 songs right will give you 75 bonus points.  The points go down if you get less songs.  The first team to get all 7 songs and turn the sheet in will get 25 bonus points… but only if the songs are all right.  If they’re not, the next team to turn it in will get the points.

Hey gang.  I was on my way back home to the ‘Burgh today when I got a phone call from my boss saying that the guy I work with is on his way to the hospital for the birth of his child.  So, I turned around and went back to work.

Why do you care?  Let me tell you.  First, that means that I didn’t have any time today to update anything.  It’s now 12:11 on the 19th and I’m just now getting to this.  Second, it means there’s not going to be an Impossible Song for the week.  That means there’s also no ‘Song Swapper’ for the week.  Finally, that means that I won’t be there tomorrow today.

There will still be a game, though.  Don’t worry about that.

This one is easy… if you’re okay with a little math.

Here’s how it works:

Figure out the first of 3 Impossible Songs.  Take the letter at the beginning of the title and artist and assign it a number (A=1, B=2, etc.).  Add those two numbers together.

Do it again with the 2nd and 3rd Impossible Song.

Once you get your 3 double-digit numbers, multiply them.

That 5-digit number is the password this week.

Hopefully this makes sense.  If not, do your best to figure it out because it makes sense to me!

The songs are set to pop up at 10:15 PM along with the password post.  The first one to get into the password post and leave a comment with their answer will win.

Look for the Impossible Songs later tonight.

It’s been a couple of days and some of you are probably wondering what’s going on with the Impossible Song.  You might also be wondering where the updated scores are.

Well, those all probably would have been updated by now, but I haven’t been feeling all that great.  The good news is that I’m feeling a little better and I’m ready to give you a rundown of what to expect this week.

1. Scores will be updated on Monday, probably.
2. The Impossible Song will be posted on Monday at approximately 10:15 PM.  If you want the ‘Song Swapper’ for the week, that’s when to log on.
3. On Tuesday (after we have a winner for the ‘Song Swapper’), I’ll be posting the RSVP post again.  You can earn an extra 5 Championship Points just by RSVPing to the game.
4. Because this is the Championship, I was toying with the idea of letting the game go an extra half-hour until midnight.  That would mean I could probably get an extra round in (probably radio roulette).  Leave your thoughts on this in the comment section.  I’m not sold on it yet, but I think it might make it more exciting.
