Tone Deaf Challenge

New details on Season 3 of the Tone Deaf Challenge…

Start Date:  April 16th
End Date:  June 18th
Championship:  June 25th

I’ll be on vacation on June 11th, so that’ll be a bye week.  That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t come though.  Every team that comes will get 10 points instead of the normal 5 championship points.  There will be no reward, however, for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place that week.  Consider it a bonus!

Keep in mind… these dates are TENTATIVE.  Depending on my work schedule, they could change.  I’ll let you know when I know if something changes.

As far as tomorrow goes, it’s a chance to redeem yourselves if you’ve ever had a weak performance at the Tone Deaf Challenge.  Tomorrow’s game is called “The January 2nd Remix.”  Basically, I’m being lazy in between seasons and just mixing up some of the songs from past games.  Let’s see how you do this time…

Oh, and the Impossible Song is up for this week… how about we go with a backwards song.  It is good for 10 bonus points if you can give me title and artist.  Good luck, because it’s not easy!

First off, congratulations to all of the teams who played in the Championship game.  That was the unofficial start of March Madness!  We had 11 teams last night and a bunch of teams started with points, including Lotion in the Basket, who started 70 points ahead of Team Ramrod.  At the end of the game, our top 3 teams were Team Vajayjay in 3rd place, Team Ramrod in 2nd, and Lotion in the Basket in 1st place.  The difference in points between Lotion and Ramrod was only 20 points.

During the head-to-head at the end of the game, Team Ramrod upset Lotion in the Basket to win the Tone Deaf Challenge Season 2 Championship.  Congratulations to Team Ramrod for their victory.

Next season will start soon.  Keep looking here for more details.  In the meantime, we’ll still be playing the game every week, so join us at the North Park Clubhouse every Wednesday night!

Just a heads-up… the lightning rounds are going to be a little different.  First off, we’ll be going through the decades for the lightning rounds.  The very first song of the night can come from any decade, but then each lightning round after that will be from the decade that we just finished.  Also, for each lightning round, there will be a 10-point trivia question that plays off of the title or artist of the song.  If you answer title, artist, or both, you’ll have an opportunity to play for the 10 points.  If one team gets the title and one gets the artist, both teams will stay and go head to head on the trivia question.  If your team gets both title and artist, you get to answer the question with no pressure.  If that doesn’t make sense, just ask and I can explain it to you. 

Final scores are in.  You can see them on the Standings page.  Instead of an Impossible Song this week, you have a chance for 15 points on Wednesday.  All you need to do is play the 3-song medley on the player above.  Bring the titles of the 3 songs on Wednesday and get 5 points for each one.

Also, if we don’t get the 15 teams, we’ll open it up to the rest of the clubhouse.  Keep in mind that those teams will start with 0 points, while all of the teams that have been coming will start with however many championship points they’ve earned.

Remember, we’re going to try to start at 9:00 PM.  We’ll see you there!

Game Over!  The second season is coming to a close and it’s time for the Championship Game.  If all goes as planned, we’ll start at 9:00 on Wednesday, March 19th.  That could change, but as of now, that’s the plan.

Scores are updated.  The top 15 teams are invited back.  Basically, if you’re in the green, you’re invited to attend the Championship.  There will probably be an impossible song or something for more bonus points, I just haven’t gotten to it yet.  Check back later.
