TV Theme Guy – Freakin’ Awesome!

Check this out, everybody.  This guy plays through 22 TV themes in 7 minutes.  Awesome job by him.  Oh, and any of these themes are fair game (except YuGiOh or Naruto or whatever the heck that was towards the beginning).

Big Thanks to Nestersoft.com

You might have noticed the blogroll on the right side of the screen.  It has something called WorkTime in it right now.  The reason for this is because I’ve struck a deal with a company to provide the timer that we use for the FaceOff for free.

In exchange, I’ve agreed to put their link up on the site.

So, if you get a second, check it out.

The program, WorkTime, keeps track of the time you spend on the computer.  If you have a home-office or business, you can use WorkTime to track time you spend working on the projects, bill clients for the job, provide exact reports about your work, track applications and documents you work on, and add notes about your work.  If you have a company, WorkTime is a good product for you, too.

When you get a spare second, head over to Nestersoft.com and see if there’s anything you can use.  Please support the companies that support the Tone Deaf Challenge!

Quick Plug: College Kid App

Hey guys… If you get a second, take a look at www.collegekidapp.com.  These guys took on the task of creating an app for the iPhone over their summer break.  They succeeded!

They actually have 3 apps that you can take a look at if you have an iPhone, but their big one is probably BatteryGo!

Take a look when you get a chance!

My Original B94 Aircheck (June 2004)

I got nostalgic over the weekend and decided to take a look back at my brief time at B937.  I was part of a contest called Summer Job Wannabe (or something like that) when the station abruptly ended on June 30, 2004.

Basically, people would vote and the person with the most votes would get a summer airshift on B937 along with a bunch of CDs.  Oh, they were also supposed to interview Jessica Simpson at the Summer Stretch concert.  It was down to 3 finalists when the station flipped.

Here’s my aircheck from my 3-hour audition on B937 (okay, yes, it’ll always be B94, but back then they decided they would change the 94 to 937 because everything was digital… that worked out well.)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Just figured I’d share this with you!  Keep in mind that this is only the second time I was on the radio.  The first was an hour-long audition the week before.  I’ve grown a lot since then, I think!

Top 9 Songs of 2009…

You guys all know that I have odd taste in music.  Here’s a look at my top 9 songs of 2009.  I have also included some close calls below.  I like so much music that this was really tough for me.

My Top 9 Songs of 2009:
1. Sink Into Me by Taking Back Sunday
2. 1901 by Phoenix
3. Good Girls Go Bad by Cobra Starship
4. (If You’re Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To by Weezer
5. I Gotta Feeling by The Black Eyed Peas
6. Use Somebody by Kings Of Leon
7. Trinity by Paper Tongues
8. Run This Town by Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Kanye
9. Panic Switch – Silversun Pickups

These were my 9 favorite songs of the year.  I think this might even be the order, too.  Close calls were:

Zero by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs
I’ve Got Friends by Manchester Orchestra
Kids by MGMT
Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus … it’s catchy!
Fireflies by Owl City … just kidding as this song gets on my nerves now!

You have favorites?  List yours and you’ll get your 10 bonus points for the week.  This’ll count as the RSVP for this week!

Tired of Downloading Illegally?

I know most of you probably do it.  You don’t have to admit it, but we all know it’s true.  You download music from one of those file-sharing sites.  Now, if you want to download ‘legally,’ you can do it right here from the Tone Deaf Challenge site.

On the sidebar, you’ll see a box.  If you’re using Internet Explorer, odds are you’re not seeing anything there.  I’m not sure why, but I’m trying to get that fixed.  If you have Firefox, odds are you’re seeing a nice music player with the top songs in it.

I’ve set up an account through Amazon.com and we earn a percentage of all sales.  Right now, I’m going with the music player, but I may expand it to other items.

Just remember, it’s better to ‘own’ the song than to ‘kinda own’ the song, if you catch my drift.  Just think about that.  Ya, I’m talking to you.  Now go buy a song or CD from Amazon… just make sure you click through that box to the right.

Why not start by downloading the new ‘Snow Patrol’ CD for only $3.99.  That’s a heck of a deal. I just downloaded it about 2 hours ago. I’d tell you how it is, but I haven’t listened yet. Check it out if you’re inclined!

Off-Topic… SNL!

I’ve never been a huge fan of SNL (I do like it though), but these Thursday Night Updates are great.  Enjoy this clip that you can find on Hulu.com.
